Bill:
SB 696
About the bill:
This bill is about creating special schools called "recovery high schools" in certain parts of Virginia.
This bill says that school boards in certain areas can open these recovery high schools. These schools would be open to students who are recovering from problems with drugs or alcohol.
The schools would be open all year long.
Students from any high school in the area can go to these schools.
The schools would help students with their schoolwork, feelings, and how to get along with others.
The goal is to help students get their high school diploma and go back to a regular high school.
