Bill:

S 20

Native American Hunting Licenses

Native American Hunting Licenses

About the bill:

  • This bill makes changes to an old bill. The old bill made rules about different types of hunting licenses.

    • A hunting license is a piece of paper that says a person is allowed to hunt certain animals in certain places.

  • The old bill said that members of the Catawba tribe could have a special kind of hunting license that lasts a long time.

    • The Catawba tribe is a group of Native Americans who come from the area we now call South Carolina.

  • The new bill says that members of any Native American tribe can have the special hunting license.

  • The new bill also gives more information about how Native American artists can use animal parts in art pieces they sell. The animal parts can come from an animal that someone hunted with their hunting license.
