Constitutional Amendments - Cannabis.

This is a bill that would change the North Carolina Constitution. The change would make having cannabis not a crime. 

• Constitution: a document with all the laws and rules for the state

• Cannabis: a plant that has an ingredient called ‘cannabanoids’ that can be used to make certain medical conditions better, like anxiety or issues in the brain.

• If this bill passes:

  • North Carolina voters would get to choose if the change to the Constitution happens on election day.

  • To make the change, North Carolina voters would mark yes or no to the question on their ballot.

    • Ballot: A paper or electronic form that voters use to make their choices in an election.

    • Yes means: having cannabis would not be a crime in North Carolina

    • No means: having cannabis would be a crime
