About the bill:
This is a bill that would change the North Carolina Constitution. The change would make having cannabis not a crime.
Constitution: a document with all the laws and rules for the state
Cannabis: a plant that has an ingredient called ‘cannabanoids’ that can be used to make certain medical conditions better, like anxiety or issues in the brain.
If this bill passes:
North Carolina voters would get to choose if the change to the Constitution happens on election day.
To make the change, North Carolina voters would mark yes or no to the question on their ballot.
Ballot: A paper or electronic form that voters use to make their choices in an election.
Yes means: having cannabis would not be a crime in North Carolina
No means: having cannabis would be a crime
