An ACT Relating to Voters Qualified for Excused In-Person Absentee Voting

About the bill:

  • The goal of this bill is to allow people in Kentucky who take care of disabled people to also vote by an excused in-person absentee ballot.

    • Excused in-person absentee ballot: Voting by filling out your ballot in person some time in the six working days before the Thursday before Election Day, instead of on Election Day.

  • This bill defines people who take care of voters who are elderly, disabled, or very sick as someone who either gives or is paid to give medical or healthcare support to the voter.

  • If this bill passes, caregivers of voters who are allowed to vote in person before Election Day will also be able to vote in person at this earlier time.
