Pregnancy Support & Wellness Services

This bill is about supporting pregnant people in Florida.

• If this bill is passed, it will get rid of a Florida law that is in place right now, called Section 381.96

  • Section 381.96: 

    • Has rules for contracting people to work in pregnancy wellness 

    • Puts money people living and working in Florida pay in taxes towards paying for “crisis pregnancy centers”

      • Crisis Pregnancy Centers are organizations that try to convince pregnant people not to go through with a medical procedure to end their pregnancy, called an abortion.

      • These centers are run through a program across the whole state called the Florida Pregnancy Care Network.

  • If this bill is passed and section 381.96 is taken out of Florida law:

    • the Florida Pregnancy Care Network won’t get so much money 

    • There won’t be Crisis Pregnancy Centers in Florida
